Each of the wineries  will offer gourmet foods, paired with their own wines and many will incorporate a party theme featuring musical entertainment. Special wine discounts will also be available at most venues. Download the 3 page program here and plan your route!

I’m happy to say that I have been visiting Stryker Sonoma for years and purchased their first release Estate Zinfandel, which was spectacular. I’m also very fond of the Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot they produce, along with the Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, which is big, rich and complex.

The winery and tasting room is positioned ideally on the estate, and the tasting room is gorgeous with its contemporary look, tons of glass and view of the vineyards. They consistently produce outstanding wines and there’s plenty of parking too!

Taste Alexander Valley is a great event right on the coattails of the Dry Creek Passport, which was great as always. I’m going to put a plug in for Stephen & Walker who participated in this year’s Passport for the first time and did a GREAT job (and the Hog Island Oyster crew was awesome too!)

  • Tom Cutts:

The top choice for me would be Hanna. They have some VERY delicious wines, particularly in their Bismark line. It is an added bonus that they are great people to visit with!

  • Jennifer Joseph:

My top choice would be Hawkes. Friendly, small tasting room and you can also enjoy Hawkes House Red at the best eatery in Geyserville,Diavola where it pairs great with everything on the menu.

My favorite winery is Silver Oak, it was the first winery I ever visited, eight years ago, with my beautiful girlfriend. So it will always have a special place in my heart. Silver Oak was also the wine that introduced me to how wonderful wine can be, which introduced me to many other wineries in the Alexander Valley.

  • Jason Klafter:

I have been a member at a few of the wineries listed and have really enjoyed the wines from those wine clubs, but one of my new favorites which I just got to taste this past barrel tasting is J Rickards. My wife and went there on the Second Friday of barrel tasting. We were greeted by everyone there. We met the wine maker that day and got to taste some awesome red and white wines! Our next wine trip is going to include a stop so we can sign up for their wine club!!! Maybe it will be this weekend!

  • Nathan:

We were at Pech Merle Winery during the Barrel Tasting weekend earlier this year and we had a blast! We would love to go back and visit them again!

    Go Sharks!!

  • Christee:

I am hosting a garage sale that day that ends at noon (quick and dirty like) and rather than host an after party – I’ve decided I want to go out and be hosted! TAV would be perfect… so many amazing wineries I’ve only heard of – and I live here! I’d check the program in search of the tastiest, liveliest, festiviest, danciest, bbqiest, and shindigiest wineries in the valley! Woohoo!

  • Jonathan:

So who won the tickets? Just curious :)

  • William Allen:

Hi Jonathan, I posted it on the Facebook page, sorry (and emailed winners.)
John Weigel, Tom Cutts, & Brad Cummings – cheers
