Part 8 of the “12 Days of Wine Christmas” Sonoma Valley Vintners & Growers Membership
Welcome back! I hope you are enjoying the series and suggestions. If its not apparent; I am trying to make recommendations for wine gifts that are a bit unique. The usual bevvy of items like stemware, wine fridges, openers etc all still exist, and are great ideas, but you can flip open any catalog and find those. (Don’t hesitate to email or post questions or ask for recommendations.)
This one is a bit localized I will admit, but if you are a Bay area resident who frequents Sonoma Valley regularly and purchases a fair amount of wine, this is a great benefit that actually would pay for itself, as well as offer access.
There are a variety of Membership levels in the Sonoma Valley Vintners & Growers (SVVGA):
Vintner Member
Grower Member
Associate Member
Culinary Associate Member
Individual Associate Member
If you have a business that would benefit from networking and exposure in the wine industry, the Associate and Culinary Associate are good options.
For consumers, the Individual Associate Member is the ticket. Its $250 a year. Is that worth it?
Let’s do some math: The $250 membership gives you industry level discounts of 30-50% off wine. If we say an average bottle is $25,
at 30% discount, and you bought 50 bottles a year, you would save $375. Throw in discounts to tickets to events during the year and this becomes a smart investment, not a cost. Not to mention you get to rub elbows with Vintners and Growers during the year at mixers and parties.
Give your wine lover the bragging rights to flash the card around, or buy for yourself to save some money when buying wine, and attend great events, like an insider.
Cheers!
